My tasks: what I have to do
The My tasks page answers a single question: "What do I have to do?" It gathers, across all process instances, the tasks assigned to you, sorted by due date.
What is My tasks for?
Every time a process instance hands you a task (an email to send, a meeting to hold, a document to prepare, a milestone to reach, a free-form task), it shows up here. You do not have to open each process instance to find out where to act.

The heading shows the number of tasks ("3 assigned to you, sorted by due date"). Each row reads from left to right:
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Task icon | The type: email, meeting, document, milestone or free-form task. |
| Priority | How important the task is, shown by an icon (Low priority, Medium priority or High priority). |
| Process instance | The process instance the task belongs to. |
| Task | A sentence saying what to do — should send the email, should hold the meeting, should prepare the document, should reach the milestone or should complete the task —, followed by the task's name, its description and how long ago it was assigned to you. |
| Due date | The due date and a cue: Today, Tomorrow, In 3 days… or 2 days overdue in red if it has passed. |
| Status | The state: New, In progress, Blocked, Waiting approval, Waiting signature, Done, Sent… |
Filter and search
Four chips filter the list by due date, each with its number of tasks:
| Chip | Shows… |
|---|---|
| All | All your tasks. |
| Overdue | Those whose due date has passed (highlighted). |
| Today | Those to finish today. |
| Upcoming | Those coming up (after today). |
The Search tasks box at the top right narrows the list to the tasks containing your text. The chip counters take the search into account.
Start each day with the Overdue chip, then Today: that way you deal with what is critical first.
Handle a task
- Click the row
The task opens directly in its process instance.
- Do what is asked
Write the email, prepare the meeting, generate the document, fill in the requested Outcomes…
- Click Save
Your changes are saved. If the task calls for a review, use the Review menu.
- Go back to My tasks
The task changes status; the list and the counters update.
If the list is empty, the message "No task matches your filters." is displayed: clear the filters or empty the search. No tasks at all? Nobody has assigned you a task yet.
Tips
- A Blocked task is waiting for someone or something: open it and read the comments to understand why.
- Missing context? Open the Activity tab to see what has happened around the process instance.
- To assign a task to someone else, set it in the process (Assigned to) or when the process instance is created (Participants).
Permissions
The My tasks page needs the View my tasks permission. To work on a task (save, send, generate, comment, review) you need Work on tasks: without it, ProcNest shows “You can read this task but you do not have the permission to change it.” and hides those buttons. The Viewer role reads tasks without changing them.
Everything about roles and permissions: Users and roles.
